Chia Seed Crackers

When thinking of snacks Chia Seed Crackers are a better choice than chips or other fatty foods that you would normally want to grab.

Chia Seed Crackers

I have been learning to make a lot of new healthy foods and sense I had a big container of chia seeds I started looking around for ways to use the super seeds.

Doing a little experimenting I have come up with some very tasty / spicy Chia Seed Crackers I think you would enjoy the next time you are craving a snack and do not want the fatty food junk.

Ingredients :

1 large egg
6 teaspoons of chia seeds
6 teaspoons of almond meal (home-made)
2 ½ tablespoon of coconut flour
1 teaspoon chili power
1 teaspoon garlic powder ( 2 if you really like garlic as I do )
½ teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper

Directions :

Preheat oven to 350º

Combine all dry ingredients and mix them thoroughly, add the egg mixing it all to form a ball. Place the ball on a piece of baking paper, and lay another sheet of paper over the top. Flatten it out ( either with your hand or a rolling pin ) and keep smoothing it out until it is quite thin.

Using a narrow glass ( a shot glass works good ) to cut the crackers into circles and bake them in oven for approximately 12 minutes or until crispy and browned.

I have really enjoyed learning all the good things you can make that are healthy for you over the last 4 months.

I do believe I have found a new favorite snack with these Chia Seed Crackers.
